ParticipantHi,
I have a 4 year old Hoover HFI 3015 dishwasher.
A while ago it started playing up so that it seemed to get to the end of the wash and dishes were clean but hot clean water would still be in the bottom of the dishwasher. This happened regardless of which program it was on and whatever program it was on then its light would be flashing rapidly (no pauses or sequence)
If a new program was selected then it would drain as normal and it would carry on fine.
I managed to persevere with this but recently it has started to randomly stop half way through cycle and I would end up with dirty dishes and dirty water at bottom of dishwasher.
I got a local engineer out and he said that all the components such as pump, thermostat, heater etc seem to be working correctly and that it might be the control board.
Does anyone have any idea of what is going on and if it is the cntrol board, is it worth replacing?
Thanks very much

The most likely is the drain pump. Works OK when it’s cold but seizes whilst pumping hot water out. (Knackered pump bearings is the technical term – low power permanent magnet pumps are clapped out within 3 – 5 years daily use) 😉

Hi Martin,
Thanks for the reply.
I’m not sure it is the pump as it works fine just after the cycle has stopped.
If it was the pump and it sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t how would you confirm this (apart from putting on a new pump)
Thanks

Pour a large bowl of scalding hot water into the tub. Leave for a couple of mins then switch it to pump out. Alternatively, check the impellor for lateral movement (Worn bearings )

To sit there and listen when on drain after hot wash. There will be a faint hum if pump is stuck and not rotating.

Hi, did you ever get to the bottom of this? I’m having the same problem.
The recirculation pump had load of play at the impeller so I changed that .The drain pump seems to be working because it drains water on the rinse cycle. I read the comments about the pumps failing when hot. Can anyone confirm this?
