ParticipantGood evening all,
I don’t think my previous query for the above vacuum was successfully entered.
Essentially, the above vacuum requires a new flex, as it is damaged (has been run over) and has been taped up in a couple of places, along with being pulled and damaged where it enters the grommet/casing.
However, Hoover does not supply a new power cord/flex, so I’ve obtained a generic two core flex, with a view to repairing the above.
Alas, I’m struggling to replace the above!
When the cable enters the handle section, it disappears from view, into what appears to be a sealed section.
I have removed many screws, and tried “getting into” the required area to no avail. It appears to be sealed for life, or if not, requires breaking the plastic casing/s to access etc.
Grateful for any help, although as Hoover do not supply the part ( to a relatively new vacuum) may speak volumes.

Moderatortech info leads to no info and not seen this one yet so cant comment on taking apart
to be fair a lot of maunfacturers are doing this. you try to get a spare for shark / ninja and you will hit the same brick wall. Had a shark with a pet damaged flex, so we had to fit a plug and customer had to use extension or fork out £100 for a new motor unit
part list shows a complete motor unit with flex part no 49129999
you cant half tell its a chinese owned company

ParticipantThanks for that Dave.
I’ve had another look at the above Hoover, and simply cannot see how it is possible to renew the flex.
As mentioned, where the cable enters the handle the cable disappears into the housing, which appears to be sealed, and would entail breaking it apart to fit the flex…

ParticipantTypically, after around one week, the above Hoover has now given up the ghost… i.e. no power from where the flex enters the handle housing!
I have brought the vacuum back again, with a view to replacing the flex, yet it looks very much like some plastic parts will be broken in the process…

ParticipantProbably some trim/decor needs unclicking to reveal some screws

ParticipantWell, finally managed to access the above via several hidden screws, and removing some trim/decor, as suggested by matrixresonat – thank you.
In my view, these, and other appliances that I can think of, are not designed to be taken apart.
It would take someone who has assembled such machines many times, to dismantle and reassemble perfectly.
