Hello – my old Hoover (Logic 1100) washing machine has now gone to Hoover Heaven after 17 years. The bolt which holds the drum and to which the flywheel and belt is attached to has snapped – leaving part of the bolt still inside the drum – I expect it could be drilled out and possibly replaced by a new bolt but I think I would like a new machine now! Please could somebody let me have their opinion or experience of the HNF 2137. Are there any known bugs / problems that I should be aware of? Advices would be much appreciated – had a look arounf several shops yesterday and am so somehwat bewildered by the choice!!!

    Hi Jools,
Just a few thoughts with regard to your HNF2137. To start, bear in mind that the Hoover company you bought your Logic from all those years ago is not the Hoover company of today – it is a subsidiary of Candy.

Secondly, you have not mentioned your circumstances. Do you need the machine for yourself? Family? LARGE family? This is after all a large capacity machine.

Based on the Hoover/Candy machines to date, a large capacity, high spin machine based on the current tub design is unlikely to survive the (at least) 10 years of your current one.

I would suggest summoning up an extra £50 and investigating something like the Bosch Maxx range.

Simple rule of thumb; you gets what you pays for – £299 is too cheap for what’s on offer!

This is a personal opinion, others may have different views.

    Regards,
    Penguin45.

Thanks Penguin 45 for your reply. My husband did say that if £299 lasts for 7/8 years then that’s OK. However – your comment regarding the spin speed with the large tub has concerned me so much that I have now cancelled my order for the Hoover and will be getting either the the Bosch WFO2866 (smaller tub 6kg with a higher spin speed 1400rpm) or the Bosch WFO2466 (same tub but 1200 rpm spin speed) – think that this is the only difference between them for £50.

Take the WFO2466 – there is very little advantage in higher and higher spin speeds once you go over 1000 rpm – if anything duration of spin is more important.

Also, you get a 2 year warranty on the Bosch.

    Regards and good luck,
    Penguin45.

    Re: Hoover HNF 2137

Ta very much Penguin 45 for your advice. Just now ordered the Bosch 2466 for the same price as the Hoover 2137 – and a quick comparison on the Comet website shows that for the same price the Bosch is a better machine if you’re not fussed about larger drum/higher spin on the hoover.

    Thanks again!

    Hi jools88
Do you still have your old Hoover logic 1100
As I require some parts for my 19 year old one 😆
