Hoover HNF 6127 tripping mains.

Hi. This is my first post on here. I’m hoping someone can help with a problem with a Hoover HNF 6127 washer, which broke down just before Christmas. When first plugged in, it behaves normally, the door lock led comes on and so on. But when you press the start/pause button, the start led comes on normally, there is then a delay of a couple of seconds and the washer trips the main household RCD. We’ve tried this on the wash and spin cycles, it trips on either at exactly the same point. Any suggestions please?

Hi Martin. So I finally got around to dragging the machine out, and took the back cover off. As soon as I did, it became obvious what the problem was. There was a heavy build up of condensation on the drum motor, including the wiring loom, and on the heater terminals, etc. I dried it all out with a hot air blower for a few hours, then left it to dry naturally overnight. I tried it today, and it has done three loads no problem. The only thing I don’t understand is why this has happened now, when the washer has lived in the kitchen with no problem for the last two years??

Because there’s an air vent behind the machine and an icy blast coming through the wall maybe?
