    The machine powers up door interlock locks then the start delay light starts flashing. I have chequed motor and heater element they are ok

    The Ist option LED below the Start LED should also flash at the same time. Count the number of flashes then look up the error code for a Hoover Nextra listed in the error codes thread for the answer. 😉
