Went to see this a couple of weeks ago just before leaving for another week away (taking advantage of no work, fine weather and cheap train fares).
Reported fault was no drum action and washing coming out dripping wet. (But “belt checked and OK” :rolls: )
Took along some brushes and prepared for nice easy money.
Put it on and drum seemed to turn OK. Had a look at “module” in base but that turned out to be one of those DC converter boards ( 😕 ?) and anyway it looked fine. Pulled out motor and checked brushes which were very long despite alleged heavy use over many years.
Put on to final rinse and spin. (Don’t remember how I managed to do this as there may not be such a programme 😳 ) It drained fine (pump was fine and filter, sump etc. all clear.) It ramped up to spin normally but finished a complete “long” spin in 2 minutes and 48 secs. (I discovered my mobile has a stopwatch 😀 ) Tried spin only with exact same result.
Heater is OK and 20 Mohm or so IR.
Suggested customer hang on in there and dry clothes on line till my return which she was fine with.
Am thinking of trying in a programme selector switch unless anyone has a better idea.

    Mike.

Rinse/Spin selection is in the 5 o’clock position on the dial, spin only @ 6 o’clock.

Did the m/c ramp up to 1500 (the manual states its 1400 by the way? 😕 ) in that 2′ 48″?

I could send you a Nextra Test pdf if you like, though I don’t have your email address to hand right now? Mind you during test B8 of the test sequence it only ramps on slow spin for 27″ anyway.

Last question: Are you testing with or without a load on the long/fast spin?

    Hi Martin, thanks for reply.
I don’t know what speed it got to, seemed about 1000/1200 maybe. The 2′ 48″ I stated was from when drum began to move to when prog ended. 🙁
I’m pretty sure (it was a good holiday) I had a load in it.
Would appreciate pdf; can never have too much information.
Will PM you with my e-mail.
I think 5 would be rinses and spin as opposed to final rinse and spin ❓

Well, rung her up today to arrange a visit Weds. and it’s apparently been behaving itself since I looked at it. Must be my magic touch again. Good thing I took my call out charge on first visit. At least I’ve got some ammo now if problem recurs.:D

I got similar problems on a nextra hnl2126.
Needed new brushes, duely done, but now, the spin struggles with the usual weight.

I’ld appreciate a test PDF to see what’s occurring.

The diagnostics are in the fault book / codes.

Look for the Nextra range. 😉

All this will do is get it to fill, turn, heat, drain & kick into full spin.
So it won’t probably help diagnosis much.

Sounds like the motors had it.
