Simple, or so I thought. Replaced snapped belt, turned to spin, pump runs but not motor.

    Motor & brushes perfect.

Set it to wash and it does a wash action perfectly. Set it back to spin and still no motor action but I did notice that as I pressed the Start/Pause button the motor kicked in for a split second. 😕

Set it to rinse & spin. Perfect wash action, starts to drain with normal wash action and then when more or less empty I noticed that one tumble ( anti clockwise from the front ) was jerky. Then it tumbled clockwise only for a couple of tumbles and then it started to do very short reverse tumbles with hardly any pause in between.

Anyone seen this after belt failure or have any suggestions?

    Jim.

On the assumption that the belt hadn’t snapped as a result of the drum jamming? (i.e Burnt belt). I can only conclude that the coreboard must be faulty and sending it off to EMW to check may be your best option Jim. 🙂

OR you could always run it through the ‘Auto-Test Routine’…. 💡

(I could send you info on that procedure if you haven’t already got it to hand that is?)

I do have that info thanks to you Martin, belt had just frayed, drum is fine.

A strange one though, don’t you agree?

Indeed, very odd, and for it to suddenly change direction like that must only mean the module has gone gaa gaa TBH. Perhaps a word in Tony’s (EMW) shell-like might confirm my suspicion. Worth a bell I reckon… 💡

the frayed belt didnt damage the wires going to the thermistor, that can throw up some strange faults.

I did give everything a good visual but getting my nose right up close won’t do any harm on my return.

There was no sign of the belt flaying around though.

    Thanks.

Just to put this one to bed, a new PCB sorted the problem. 😀

Apparently it was working perfectly until the belt came off. 😕

A customer of over 30 years standing, I don’t think I have any problems with this one. 8)
