Participantwent out to this one today, no motor action, motor appears to check out ok, but board has popped on the main module,
its the area where on the reverse “wire J8” and a large black component “503 180” is located, or the 6th track connection from the LHS of the bank of tracks furthest away from the computer-type style loom connector. i.e the bank of tracks that are all fat, and spaced apart rather than half fat and spaced apart and half thin and close togethter…
*hopes this make sense* :rolls:basically wondered if this part of hte board relates to the motor at all because customer said upon visit theyve already had motor replaced before under warranty (and im wondering the board too)
also have their been any modified boards or updates since this machine was released as motor failures appear to be a common fault for this model on the tinternet review sites…

That thing in the red circle is almost certainly a relay. I think they have 24 volt coils on those boards as opposed to the more common 12v used on most boards. Could very well relate to motor.
Have you read common PCB repairs sticky thread at head of this forum?

yep and im keen to experiment but electronics wasnt my strongest subject at college :rolling:
but yeh if that one applies to the motor then im not gonna go any further as there is obviously an unresolved issue with this model, that hoover will never bother to rectify on the parts side of things
