Hoover HNL6136 – stop light flashing

Customer has a fault with a Hoover Nextra, model number HNL6136S-80 ser 31000878.

When a programme is selected the start pause button does not work and the lights do not illuminate. Only the stop light flashes. Selecting the other option buttons does illuminate them. The Start/Pause light does not flash to indicate a fault.

The fault originally occured about a month ago, but cured itself til now. The mains out from the door interlock is burnt, but there is 240v to the interlock and I by-passed interlock to eliminate it. Still had same fault.

Insulation reading clear, pump, heater, motor, thermistor continuity checked from the board. Board checked, no indication of dry joints or component failure.

An update in case anyone else has similar problem. The start switch on the p/b board had come completely off the board, and although it felt as if the switch mechanism was working, it wasn’t. Soldered switch back on and sorted door lock and machine a ok.
