hoover hnl6166 black marks on washing

Hi – we have a Hoover HNL6166 which appear to be working perfectly apart from an annoying intermittent problem when washing. Some lighter items come out with black marks on them. Most of the time putting the items through another wash removes the marks but on other items (e.g. towels) the marks remain. The chief operator ( 🙂 ) has cleaned the seals, door etc. cleaned the soap drawer & run bleach through an empty wash – the problem remains. Any ideas?

Hi Don – tks for reply. checked out the links but nothing seems to match – no mildew (Chief Operator very particular about that) Soap trays clean, tried changing detergent brand – no mousse etc. on towels.
