Hoover HNL622-80 – Intermitant Program Selection

Hi Folks

Just been to this today and just wondered if anybody had this before or might know what causing the problem?

Customer mainly uses the fast washes on left of dial (29min 44min 59min) and of those uses 29min wash mostly. The complaint was that when selecting the 29 min wash the m/c intermitantly selects a longer wash.

When I tried it I couldn’t fault it but then it started to play up and when selecting 29 min wash it would indicate 60 min or on occasion longer.

Thought this might be a selector problem as when ever I reselected onto a spin program it always selected ok with 15 min shown – however when selecting rinse it indicates 60 min and then after about 30 secs drops down to 30 min which I have never noticed one of these do before.

Thought it might just be a time indication problem but customer says she has timed a 29min wash and it took over 50 mins to complete.

Although it looks likw an intermitant selector switch is it a posible pcb? Or even something else?

Just wondered if anyone of you folks had come accross this before or any positive suggestions as first time I have come accross a prob like this on these m/c’s.

Otherwise looks like a selector change first.

Well the selectors on these things are about a fiver and about as reliable as our train service :rolls: so I wouldn’t think twice.

Selector was going to be first port of call as – yes they do look cheap and nasty !!!

Wasn’t the cost that is problem just the time in sorting it out and just wondered if anyone come accross this before in case I’m barking up the wrong tree as seemed a bit on the wierd side.

Yes, I’ve had this before. New selector usually sorts it.
