Called out to a Hoover HNL7166 washing machine today Symptom short fill then delay start and start arrow above flashes 5 times and machine stops.

Took the back off to find that the wires to the thermistor had been rubbing on the drive belt which had taken away the insulation and caused them to short.

Repaired the problem and located them away from the belt but the initial fault as above remained.

Does anyone know if the 5 flashes are still relating to this problem just wondering if the short may have damaged the control module as well.

It is an NTC/Heater fault for sure so you will need to double check the resistance of the NTC, Megger the heater and such. I don’t think there would be an issue with the coreboard for this error code.

Already checked the heater with a Megger and it’s OK, will check the ntc tomorrow
