    hi guys,

it’s all quiet in Manchester at the moment after a busy few weeks.

the above machine has had the pump replaced, iv checked the wiring up to the Pump and it’s fine, won’t drain when drain only is selected and won’t drain through the cycle either.

it’s a Hoover wm with a slave selector
and the pcb bolts to the top side next to the slave.

    I’m thinking pcb board?

why did you change the pump?

if the old pump was rusty and the coil had gone it will have blown the traic on the board. also tends to blow the 2 resistors that trigger it
can be fixed by pinching part from an old board but there is a chance the main processor has been damaged as well, in which case new board only

    Hi Dave!

the customer replaced the pump but yes your spot on the old pump was a right mess with rust, thanks as that makes sense now with the fault code it was throwing up etc….

    will replace the board

    thanks again Dave…..

you also need to look for possible leaks over the pump so it wont re-occur

Always put a plastic bag or the water shield off a Bosch washer motor over the pump to stop dripping condensation dropping from the tub moulding. IIRC some engineers on the service network were piping a line of silicone from the tub moulding down the side of the tub at an angle to guide the drips to the back of the machine. :rolls:
Instead they could have designed it properly; but that costs money…………

    Steve.
