hi can anyone please help? I have just completely stripped down my machine to investigate the rumbling sound and as I suspected the bearing sets have worn and been destroyed. I have managed to remove the water seal and the centres of the bearings from inside the centre of the tub – however the bearing casings seem to be very firmly set within the metal sleeve of the tub and I cannot remove them at all. Is this an un-serviceable sealed unit? Ive trawled the web and this is the only site I have found which would suggest that they can be removed. Do I have to replace the whole tub or will these stubborn casings be removed with a special tool? Any advice greatly appreciated. thanks Joe

peoplel remove them in many different ways

if you cant get a decent sized chisel behind it, you can drill a hole in the cast casing behind the bearing shell, to allow the chisel head to get a good lock on it

    some grind it out

but, if theyre that bad… is your dum shaft ok?

there is only one answer, and that is brute force and determination, it will come out, you just got to be determined

please work carefully too, protect your eyes, and wear good quality gloves to avoid personal injury
