    Hi folks. How’s business?
Here’s an interesting one for you.
Customer reported machine overheating so I got a new ntc and went along. It’s a holiday cottage so the machine’s owner who had reported the prob was absent. I fitted new ntc although old one seemed to be OK (25k decreasing quickly to 18k when breathed on). Switched on to check operation. Machine began to fill then stopped after 15 secs. and just sat there. Then the lights began to flash. Super-wash button second from left and the triagular “P” (prewash?) led above it flashing in unison five times then pause then five times and so on. Tried other progs all same operate for 15 secs then lights flash as before. Checked all connections from board to ntc -all good. Had a look at board and found just a little bit of suspicious looking trace where water had been. Looked like it must have run along the fascia and got in. I’m thinking of sending it to Nottingham for testing. Anybody had this fault before?

Faulty readings from NTC – device, wiring or coreboard.

Will ring customer and see what she thinks about coughing up for new board.
Hate these electronics. Why can’t they spread the controls over two or three boards and thus make machines economically repairable?

Got new board from Gias. Their retail was same as connect’s trade price, then they gave me 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} trade discount without need for evidence.
The bad news is when fitted the m/c still not working. With new board in, door didn’t even lock – not getting neutral. Everything else checks out OK. Could be fascia board I suppose but it didn’t look damaged in any way. Had had enough so advised customer to replace machine.
Any body thinks they may need a coreboard 09200654 in near future, please save this post and make me an offer.
    Mike.
