    A mate of mine has a problem with this machine. I have not looked at it yet but he says the machine wont go in to spin. It starts to spin then stops very abruptly.
    He said its as if the machine has brakes on it.
    Anyone come across this before?

    Possible tacho problem. Think motor is a Sole type, like some Zanussi. There is also a transformer & bridge rectifier board in the base, not sure why.
