    Hi,

Was called out to this machine today, not heating and taking a long time to complete cycles. Heater continuity & insulation both fine, motor a bit low insulation (70Mohms) but brushes okay everything else working fine. Two stats, left no resistance (closed circuit), right readings seemed about right. Heater wires continuity fine. There is actually some power supplied to the heater, but less than 1V – enough to light the neon but not heat the water.

Can this be anything else other than the timer? Tempted to BER it with motor insulation being lowish anyway. Customer very difficult (went to machine in December for blocked filter, she’s still insisting this is the same fault). Thanks in advance :).

70 m ohms is not low it’s good 😕 Have you checked the PCB for dry/burnt joints around the heater relay?

I agree with Mal,70 Meg at 500v is not going to cause you problems.
Have you checked for bad connections or as Mal said PCB bad connections?

Yes 70Mohms not normally enough to cause trouble but it’s the only slightly weird thing I could find on the machine – rest of insulation is all >1500Mohms. Clutching at straws a little I guess to find *something* wrong with it as never had a problem with one of these timers before.

The only PCB on this machine only (I think) controls speed for module. Heater wires go through closed circuit stat directly to timer. Checked continuity right to timer connections themselves.

    Thanks for your help 🙂
