Hi, My Hoover Logic 1200 model number A3786 has started sticking when it comes to spin section of programme, is this likely to be mechanical or an electronic fault, or does anyone have any suggestions?
    thanks for your help

    hi,
it could be sticking for various reasons,
creasguard selected, foeign object in pump, blockage in pressure switch system.
its very unlikely to be the timer,
    Plug out when checking.

    Hi,
many thanks for your suggestions, it’s definitely not the creaseguard, at least switch not selected.

I’ll check the pump, although it seems to empty okay. It seems to take a long time to travel from supercare (E) to spin (G) then stcks but can you tell me how to locate and check the pressure switch system.

    Thanks again, greatly appreciated!

its the plastic “bottle” type thing at the botom of the backplate, if its blocked the machine doesnt know wether there is water in it or not, if its blocked it wont spin even if its empty.

It does spin if the machine is turned off and then spin selected on it’s own and switched on again?

    hello again,
I’ve taken the presure bottle off and in the pipe at the bottom end there is what looks like hard white silicone sealant, it almost looks as if it should be there, is this the case?

The belt has also snapped, could this have anything to do with it?

    Thanks

there isnt supposed to be any silicone sealant there should be a hole about 1/4 inch diameter that stuff is probably hardened soap and will almost certainly be causing the problem.
the belt going is a coincidence, if you are replacing the belt make sure you note where the couloured wires go to the thermostats.

Ah well, new drive belt arrived from trusty UKWHITEGOODS in double quick time and has now been fitted, silcone removed from from pressure bottle and everything reassembled 🙂

However a new problem has developed, it is taking in water but I don’t know where it is going as very little seems to get to the drum and there is only a very small amount being taken into detergent drawer and only enough to dampent the powder at the far end of the drawer. It also seems to be “humming a lot” (electrnic humming, not the smelly kind 🙂 The only thing that changed was removing the silcone, anyone have any suggestions?

I’m under pressure now as she who must be obeyed, says the washing is piling up :rolls:

    Thanks

    Re: Hoover Logic 1200 A3786

The humming is probably coming from one of the valves. Have you kinked the cold or hot fill hose?

Unplug as always if you are going in!

have you kinked the fill hose or is the water not turned back on fully.

I didn’t need to turn the water off and i’m pretty sure that the hose wasn’t kinked but I’ll check that out.
Do you think that perhaps the silicone was suppsed to be there to form some sort of resistance in the pressure system? i don’t understand how it works, so I have to rely on you guys.

many thanks for the speedy replies.

Hoses definitely not kinked and water turned on. It has taken in water but very slowly and doesn’t look as if it is enough but it has begun to tumble eventually but there is something amiss!

Could it be that the macine has to run a couple of time to repressurise the system?

    Re: Hoover Logic 1200 A3786

no repressurisation. the machinewont tumble unless it has enough water in it, as tim said the humming noise is the water valves, the hoses are kinked, the taps are not on fully or you have put the hot and cold hoses round the wrong way.
