    Hi,

I’ve just “repared” my hoover new wave washer/dryer (10yrs old). The dryer fan self destructed so I replaced it, and for good measure also replaced the motor brushes for the 1st time. The thermal fuses are all good and the new motor now spins up but…

When I try to use the machine, either to wash or dry mode, after it goes through some initial cycle, after about 30 seconds all the lights flash and I get E5 appear on the LED display.

I put the machine on its side to get access to the motor which I had to take out in order to replace the brushes could that have effected something????

Anyhow what does E5 mean? Sorry if this is a repeat question but I’ve done a forum search but could not find anything relevent.

    Help!
    Kev.

btw, I live in Australia, but the machine was originaly purchased in the. The parts people here in Oz weren’t interested in helping me out so I had to get the replacements parts from the Uk.

    Doh and double doh 😳

I think I now know what E5 means: “Repaired by idiot”

…I had forgotten to reconnect the motor. Problem fixed!!! (for now 😀 )
