ParticipantHi,
My Nextra 6 has been really reliable over the past few years but has recently stopped a couple of times in mid cycle. No error codes as far as I can tell and at no particular point in the cycle. First time it happened was near to the end just before spin and today it stopped twice right at the start.
I can restart the cycle by turning the wash selector dial back to ‘off’, then back to the wash program I was using and pressing start. The machine seems to know where it was during the cycle as it does not restart from the beginning.
Any tips for where to start looking would be much appreciated as the machine is otherwise fine & I don’t really want to replace it if I can avoid doing so.
ThanksDecember 28, 2017 at 5:36 pm #452631kaibart

I would suggest checking the carbon brushes as the machine is well over 5 years old so that’s where I would start kai

Firstly, apologies for the double post. I didn’t realise there was a separate forum section for washers. I did get a reply from Kai (many thanks) suggesting looking at the brushed ref the below problem, but thought I’d re-post here in case there are any other thoughts for things to look at while I have the machine out from under my worktops. I’m mechanically minded and can fix cars / computers so will not get too confused with technical answers although this is my first washing machine experience!

Merged your posts, duplicating posts only leads to confusion.
You should do as advised first. π

Thanks for putting things in order, I’ll take a look at the brushes as advised and report back. I had read somewhere else about a loose tachometer, giving some similar problems so will take a look at that too.
My washer is not only under worktops as I imagine a lot of them are, but I also need to remove a large kitchen unit to get at things properly, hence the further request.December 29, 2017 at 6:20 pm #452635iadom

Donβt over complicate things. π
A loose tacho would cause the motor to run erratically and is not that common a problem on these machines.
Apart from user misuse pump blockages, worn motor brushes are the most common fault on all makes of machines that use brush gear motors.
