My condenser tumble dryer is a Hoover Nextra HNC770T. It starts off ok with the tumbling and drying ( the heater warms up) but after about 15 minutes it stops and struggles to continue turning then goes ok again for about 5 minutes and this goes on until the end of the drying time when the clothes come out part dry. It make a whirring sound (doesn’t sound like the bearing though) when it tries to start again and the filter light keeps coming on even though the filter is clean and the metal condenser thingy at the bottom is clean.

It’s as though part way through the cycle the dryer gets amnesia and forgets what it’s supposed to be doing….

any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

    thanks.

Drive motor start/run capacitor will be on its way out – you’ll need one of THESE.

You’ll also need an entire Sunday…….. Complete demolition of the machine required to access the motor.

    Power off first, please.
