Hi, went to this machine a couple of weeks ago to replace the door gasket because it had mold on it.A week later i was called back because the drum had rubbed against the gasket on spin causing a burning smell and grey rubber shavings.I fitted another gasket. a week later same story.
anyone else had similar problems !or what the cause maybe.
the part i fitted was 09201243.

    Thanks Barry.

I’ve had this a couple of times. The drum eventually doesn’t rub anymore. Unless, of course, the drum I support is starting to go.
I would just get them to keep using it. As long as there is no play or knocking from the drum it should eventually seat.

(Just tell them its a slightly tighter seal to prevent foreign objects catching in the seal).

Assuming the drum spigot isn’t cracked, as Tim referred to, a light smear of Vaseline on the lip of the door boot closest the drum will prevent the rubber binding and burning until the door boot beds in. Go easy on the Vaseline, just a light smear now. 😉
