Hoover OPH616 not working, lights flashing, door locks

Hi,
I have this Hoover washing machine that is at least two years old.
I think it all started with the fact that the wheel for the programs was starting to get a little loose, so sometimes the machine would get confused about which program of the two nearest ones to choose and would try to do both(?).
Recently I tried washing something for 29 minutes but the wheel got positioned between 29 min program and 44 min program, and then the machine somehow broke down (my housemate was there when it happened so I don’t know what happened exactly but she had to drain the machine manually and it never finished washing).
Ever since we have not been able to use it.
We plug it in, turn the wheel to choose the program, the lights start flashing on all the levels (periodic simultaneous flashing), the door locks, and that’s it. Te door doesn’t unlock unless we unplug the machine, plug it again and put the wheel on “OFF”.
Could anyone please help us with this problem?
