hi i have a 4 month old Hooover optima washing machine
    model number oph716DF

Been working fine, put a wash in this morning only to find water gushing out from underneath.
took the back off and the water seems to be coming from the white plastic covering the drum…
i opened the filter on the front bottom left of the machine but all that came out of it was clear water.

managed to get clothes out and apart from those at the very bottom they were all dry.

tried to start it without clothes but the water from the drum seems to e draining straight to the floor!!!!!

also showing an E02 error after a while

Not covered by warranty as i cant find the reciept

    thanks

A hole in the tank maybe?

TBH the only thing to do is find out where the water it going from before doing anything else.

E02 refers as a rule to a water inlet time-out. Coupled by the fact water is pouring straight onto the floor as it fills suggests that the hose connecting the soap dispenser to the outer (plastic) drum has come off maybe? 😕 😯

    Hiya

    thanks for replying

on further investigation it actually looks like
theres a “hole” in the white casing surrounding
Could you answer a few questions for me please is possible.

1 any reason for this to happen (there was only a karate suit in there at the time! )
2 can the plastic thing be replaced, and if so is it worth it
    3 Where can i get 1!

    thanks again

    Re: Hoover Optima

    1. If the hole appears to have been punched through the drum its almost certainly caused by a metal object, coins, keys etc. If you look carefully on the floor or on the chassis you might find the offending object, or it could still be inside the machine.

    2.Yes….No.

3.Complete, sealed drum assembly, cost an arm and two legs plus a fairly big strip down job.

There is one HERE at eSpares. eSpares do tend to be overpriced but it will give you some idea of the problems caused by sealed outer drums…and not bothering to check pockets. 😉

    Re: Hoover Optima

Found out where the water was coming from, there was 2 holes in the white drum cover both at the bottom about 1o inches apart.
The drum itself has buckled inwards in one place and not towards the holes..

Guess its a new machine then!
