We had a power cut and since then the machine won’t work. The door lock /start button just flashes and the door doesn’t lock.

Any advice on whether there is some sort of re-set button or whether the lock will have broken due to the power going on and off?

    Any advice welcome.

It could be you have had a ‘power surge’ as a result of the power disruption which has blown the control module board? (Especially if you live out in the sticks).

Or, the door interlock itself is faulty and needs replacing anyway (common failing).

Or, the door striker (the bit that goes into the door interlock opening) has failed or is loose.

    Thanks Martin.

I assume them I probably need to pay someone to come and check which one it is before buying any spares…… 🙁 Shame we can’t claim of the elec board!

If it was caused by a power surge then you can most certainly claim the cost directly back from the power company. E.g. If the machine was working during the power cut then once the power was re-establish wasn’t then a power surge could be to blame. Contact your power company if that was the case. They may then log the complaint and advise you contact a repairer to conduct a damage report OR authorise a repair there and then.

Thanks Martin….I’ll give it a bash…machine was actually mid cycle when it all happened and it was on and off all day….I can but try!
