ParticipantHi there, my trusty Hoover Purepower has malfunctioned and when I opened it up it looks like a round spindle has broken in half.
It looks black, about 1cm thick and 3-4cm across. I’m sure it holds the belt in place beacause the brush had stopped spinning and when I opened the hoover up the black thing fell out in two pieces.
I tried to put the belt back onto the metal bit that spins but it just keeps slipping off.
Can you help me name this piece please so I can but a replacement?
Thanks very much for any advice

I think this is the piece that fits around the outer motor housing and then a large clip is screwed over this part on to the bottom chassis…. Usually the handle part of machine moves from side to side. …hence why the belt slips off..
Will try to post pic of said part

Yes, I thought it may be the trunion ring
Now I’m inclined to think its actually a part of the top motor housing, wich forms part of the swivel mechanism…
Any chance you can take a photo of the part?

Yes, I thought it maybe the trunion ring, but these are made of a very flexible plastic, which don’t often,if ever! Break
I now think it the end pieces of the top,and bottom, motor cover, which locate at the sides of the main brush head housing and the handle swivels on these. ( if that makes sense )
Indesition… Any chance you can take a picture?

Thanks for the photos, as I thought those bits form part of the top motor housing cover..
The cover is available for around £10+ vat
And also available is the bag housing, which also gives you the bottom half of these half broken pieces.. All depends on if these pieces are off either side of the top cover, or one piece is from the top cover, and other one is from the bag housingBag housing, and motor cover together are around the £25 mark
Hope this helps

Note to moderators…Not sure if I am allowed to post these photos, if not please accept my apologies and remove
