Hoover Quatro Drum not turning

Our Hoover Quatro System 1300 has marked the turning of the year by expiring. The controller cycles round, the pump runs – water enters the drum and is pumped out again, but at no point in the cycle does the drum appear to turn. There is a ‘churning’ sound (like a low-speed rotating part) at points where the drum might be expected to turn or spin.

Any thoughts on where to start looking?

Belt, carbons if fitted but that would depend on the model number, that we’d need to look any further for you.
