I have a five year old hoover se 220 which has worked perfectly up to now. It does the whole wash ok but won’t spin, the timer goes round and it just pumps for the spin cycle. The pump is working fine and the drum is empty during this. I have read the comments on this and other forums and have checked the following.

Water level pressure switch seems to be all OK. clean and when I blow into it I get two sets of clicks on blowing and and two on releasing pressure.

Pump all ok and clear and working fine.

Motor all OK. Plenty of life and spring left in brushes and as I said earlier works Ok for rest of the cycle. Checked motor regulator board for anything that might be burnt and same on timer but no external damage.

Any help very much appreciated. Thanks 😡

It will normally be one of two things, the tachometer on the motor or the electronic module.

The latter the more likely in my opinion and not easy to test, it may be worth considering an engineer ?

If you go further, don’t forget :plug:

Thanks. is there any resonably simple way of testing the tacho so that I can rule it out?

Continuity test should do it normally 🙂

thanks very much for your help. It was the module. When on the phone trying to order a new one noticed two of the solder joints has melted away. Remade joints and we everything working perfectly again.
    Much obliged
