Hoover Six Whisper AAA160

Hoover AAA160 washing m/c switches on, welcome message (“Hoover inter@ct Welcome!”) appears on screen, the 6kg load and Speed wash lights come on and then thats it except the time very kindly displays the time since the machine was switched on. Worked fine last time it was used, no error codes etc and completed the wash OK.

Tried switching it off at the mains over night – works great with my PC but not for a washing m/c as its still the same. Tried pressing and holding the start button for ages – no change. The old electro-mechanical washes I could cope with and fix but these computerised ones are another matter. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
