Hoover Soft Wave Auto Washer 1000 Stuck in Cycles

Can I pick your brains on the following:

Half of the programmes are in full working order (incl. 60 and 40 degree washes).

The other half of the programmes stick halfway through but can be manually ‘pushed’ forward.
(incl. 30 degree wash).

It is a hot and cold fill machine, does this point towards the machine not heating, but when it uses the hot water it assumes all is OK?

A heater fault should affect all programmes.

More info needed.

Full model number required, 1000 is just the spin speed.

Does it stop dead or is it still tumbling?
Does it stop in the wash cycle or in the rinse cycle?
Is it full of water or empty?
Has a rinse hold feature been selected, are any of the rocker switches on the front depressed? ( assuming it has these of course)
