My washing machine has lost all function, full of wet washing (typical)! I’ve checked the fuse and that’s okay – any suggestions as to what else I can check so I don’t look a complete eejit before I call in an engineer?
Thanks
is the door shut nice and firmly?
is it full of water?
is it empty?
will it do anything at all?
have you tryed just putting it onto a spin if so what happens?
let us know we can point you in the right direction
Yep the door is properly closed; it had just finished the final rinse, so was full of wet clothes but not water. It won’t do anything at all – no spin, no tumble dry, no nothing. Is there a filter on the machine that maybe I should have cleared over the past 6 years 🙂
Could be either a faulty door interlock microswitch or even a worn door frame. A blocked pressure system will give this ‘stopping’ fault too. Clearing the pressure system involves removing the front panel of the machine to gain access to the pressure system.
This problem is best sorted by an engineer – it probably will be a reasonably inexpensive repair – your machine is superior in build quality compared to its new counterpart – and be assured – the eejit is the person who buys barrow-loads of new parts and still doesn’t fix the problem. 😉
