I have lost the manual to my tumble dryer. Can anyone tell me the hi/low settings for the heat setting button. I can’t remember if the high setting is button in or out (and it might explain some undue shrinkage 😳 ).

    Thanks

I believe with the button IN you get HIGH HEAT 🙂

an easy way to check this is to watch your electricity meter. If its the spinning disc type, switch everything else off in the house other than the tumble drier and watch how fast it is spinning, get another person to push the button and you should see a noticable increase in speed as the second heater cuts in or a slow down if it is the other way around. If your meter is a flashing light type, check the frequency of the lights.
Some driers use a differrent method of varying the time the heater is on rather than using 2 heaters, if this is the case you may have to watch the duration the heater is on. Either way it will also give you an idea of how much electricity a tumble drier uses.
