Hoover TC650 001 Dryer drum not rotating

Hi Would be grateful for a steer on the following:

Hoover TC650 001 dryer about 5 years old. Had to replace a blown mains suppressor about 2 years ago – all OK. Recently, the drum stopped turning although indicator light and heater working OK. Checked for broken drum belt – not broken. Changed the mains suppressor again, just in case (no sign of scorching)but the drum still doesn’t turn.

I can follow instructions and check wiring of parts (digital camera v useful!!), so would appreciate any “Noddy Notes” if anyone is able to assist me sith this.

Noddy notes?……. I’ve just asked Big Ears and he wonders if the motor capacitor may be at fault here? If so you can buy a replacement in TOYTOWN 😀

The dryer makes a humming noise as if it wants to work, but the drum doesn’t turn.

If it’s the capacitor at fault where would I find it and how is it accessed.

I need Noddy Notes coz I ordered a capacitor in error (instead of a mains suppressor) and sent it back for a refund!! Meanwhile the laundrette in Toytown has been quite useful 😳 😆 😆

Should’ve kept the capacitor as that’s the problem 🙁
