ParticipantHi,
I’ve had a look through the forum and can find similar faults but on different models. Hopefully the solution is the same.
The filter care light stays on even once cleaned, and the machine operates as normal but no heat is produced.
I’ve removed the silver protruding panel from the back, which hides the heater and the fan that draws the air in. I have removed what I think is the thermostat cut off from the top side of the heater and tested it with a multimeter. The meter when placed across each of the two terminals shows that there is continuity, so it can’t be at fault. For the record, it is flat and the size of a one pence piece, but there are no markings to show a maximum temperature.
Is the problem likely to be the heater element itself, or something else?
By the way, I’ve had a look through the online shop and can’t find any parts relevant to my model.
The washings mounting up and I’ve got nothing for me, the wife and the kids to wear (and I’m skint) – so please help!

James,
If your back panel has only one thermostat on it, the fault is almost certainly the microtemp on the heater itself. This is the little sausage on the heater plate itself. Replacement is impractical – the correct repair is to replace the heater – p/no 04820073 – about £43 from memory. Contact spares@ukwhitegoods.com for prices/availabilty.BTW, the usual reason that these fail is opening the door after an hour “To see how they’re doing”……… Have a word with the Laundry Captain 😆

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ll order the part and let you know how I get on.
There’s no danger of the laundry captain having done it, because she doesn’t look to see how it’s doing after two days, let alone 2 hours! I’ve a feeling that my 18 month old daughter will be the problem, as she presses anything with a button at the moment!
😀
