The machine was working normally and then stopped turning and started to make a loud buzzing noise.
With help from this forum I’ve previously replaced the large capacitor near the motor around 18 months ago, but this looks like a different problem as giving the drum a helping hand doesn’t start it working.
The drive belt seems to be OK and the motor turns over if the drum is manually rotated. There are no unusual sounds and I can’t smell any burning but I haven’t worked up the enthusiasm to strip it down completely to get a closer look.
Any thoughts ? or is it time for it to visit the council recycling depot ?
Thanks
