    Hi

Tumble dryer isnt giving out any heat from the heater pack.

Taken this off and had it tested, ok. Tested the timer unit ok, tested the wiring giving out a slight charge when off and on??

Thermostat?? or is there a switch to turn it off and on if so where is this located and do you think its permentaly shut which means that the heater pack wont activate??

    HELP!!!

It’s almost certainly the thermal fuse embedded in the heater unit, the recommended repair is a heater unit relacement normally.

Maybe best to get an engineer to be honest, if you need help with finding one, please feel free to pop your postcode up here.

    Col,
Theoretically you can replace the thermal fuse on the heater unit. It’s an awkward sod of a job, and I have broken several units over the years – and I’m a professional! Seriously, replacing the heater is a far more straight forward operation, but you are only curing the sympton.

Why has it failed in the first place? Airflow is the normal answer – the thing is an airpump, so any restriction will reduce airflow and trap heat. Filter is the obvious one, trapped or kinked venthose, lack of ventilation to the installation, or even no weather cowl on the outlet hose.

The normal cause is people setting the dryer for 90 minutes, giving it an hour, then opening the door to see how it’s going…… Machine is red hot then the air stops moving – big rise in temperature – off goes the thermal fuse.

Hope that clarifies things a bit,

    Hi

Yes i can understand what your saying

    BUT!!

This was a recon unit. Kept blowing the fuse at the industrial unit where they gave it to.

It kept home, never blew the fuse here, but never warmed up?? it was only used 4 times at the unit and it warmed up but kept blowing the fuse on the main circuit no the dryer itself??

Now when its on a home circuit it doesnmt warm up?? Thats why im confused??

    Ok Col,
Bit more to go on – I have seen several of these where the wiring chaffs through in the front right of the cabinet – it’s a front off job to check – be very careful of the little PCB.

Can’t give you exact instructions, but try that and see how you go.
    Pull the Plug First…..
