Our Hoover Tumble Dryer TV630 has a problem. No heat from the element AND the “Filter Care” indicator won’t extinguish. Have fully cleaned out the filter, plus all accessible parts of the ventilation mechanism, but no luck. I don’t know my chicken from my egg : Is the heater not working because the sensor that triggers the filter care indicator also prevents the heater element(s) getting power, or if the element(s) are faulty – would that somehow trigger the filter care indicator ??
As you will know, the element and overheat thermostat are very easy to get at, but there seems to be a second sensor inside the filter casing which looks like it might be difficult to access. Any advice gratefully received – I’m capable of changing the element (which seems to be supplied as a whole unit complete with o/h stat, but I’m not quite so sure about total dismantling of the machine.

Integral safety stat has failed. This:

    is what you want.

    Power off, of course.
