ParticipantMy condenser dryer, starts its programme, runs hot for about 10mins and then stops, it can be restarted if I switch it off then press start but will cut out again. All filters are clean and if I try to press start before switching it off, I can hear a kind of clicking noise by the pcb. What needs replacing the heater element with thermo cut outs or the pcb? Thanks

Probably the heater but the only way to be sure is to test it with a meter. It sounds as if it’s overheating and cutting out which would indicate a thermostat fault but, on this tumble dryer, the thermostats sadly come with the heater complete.
The part is here if you need it:

I don’t think we’ve ever been asked for a control module so I’m guessing that it’s a low failure rate on those.

The small pcb/relay is a known point of failure on these as well, also a lot cheaper than a heater.;) Heater cutting out shouldn’t stop everything. 😉

I did not know that. You learn something every day.
I’ve asked Dave to add it just in case.

The most common Hoover/Candy relay is already in the shop, not sure if it fits that model though?

That explains why I couldn’t find it on GIAS. :clown:

Gotta look out for the error code on these. The OP didn’t mention whether the LED’s are flashing when this fault occurs?
Time to count the flashes Marymary to figure out how contrary your dryer is? 😉 😀

Hi thank you for your replies, so heater replaced and no change, there are no flashing lights it just returns to the start light. What next I wonder??

I have this problem too. Exactly as described, the dryer cuts out after a few minutes. It’s heating and pressing start just results in a click. Turning off and on resets but the behaviour is the same. It does run on the Refresh programme though.
