Hoover VHD 814-80

Been to a Hoover VHD 814-80 today,no fault code displaying.
the machine will fill then the drum will turn a couple of times then does nothing. thought possible heater problem checked resistance of heater and ntc both ok as was the wiring,
has anyone had same problem, help appreciated. checked spin, drain, reciculating pump. all working.

Have you checked the brushes? had one with similar fault, found one brush totally worn and the other o.k 😕

customer did say he renewed brushes about a month ago will have a look to see if hes done something not quite right, but the machine does have motor action,so cant really see that as being the problem, but if ive got no ideas then im not going to ignore someone elses so will arrange to go back, and check, anymore comments welcome.

When you checked heater did you meggar it ? Just a thought.

good thought shaun didnt do insulation test just checked continuity and resistance, hmmm

I always use meggar when testing motors and heaters ..had heater not too long ago pass on resistance test but failed when i checked for insulation .Worth a shot while you are there .
