Hoover VHD 842-80 31002589 fault code

Hi Guys,

I have a Hoover Vision HD 842-80 that is displaying a fault code which when I checked in the UKW Fault code guide there are only thirteen errors shown. My problem is that the second spin speed LED and the 1st option LED are flashing sixteen(16) times. Does anyone have any ideas?

When I got back and looked on the website just now i did notice on the fault code sticky topic that the Candy Grando Series has 18 codes and 16 is an ‘ERROR 16 Water Heating Element is short circuited or defective electrical insulation’ fault.

Is this Vision HD the same as the Grando? Am I thinking along the right lines? 😕

Had the same problem with a VHD12 and it was indeed a shorted element. The door interlocks seem to give spurious codes too – I’ve fitted a couple to correct strange fault codes.

That’s interesting about the door lock as well. Thanks for that Steve. The machine was in a confined space and I didn’t want to waste time getting it out and investigating until I had some ideas about the fault code. I can go back now and investigate properly.

As on previous post E16 is water heater element is short circuited or defective electrical insulation. 😀
