Yesterday I went to a pensioners house to look at her washing machine (Hoover VHD8122-80 SN- 31001952 0748 4428). She tells me that she can do two washes in a row(40 Non-Fast)with no problem but when she tries to do a third, the machine won’t start and the Delay Start button light is on (solid, not flashing). She assures me that none of the lights indicating that a delay of 3,6 or 9hrs is lit. She tells me that if she switches the machine off at the wall for a little while the machine resets and she is able to do two more loads before the machine does the same again. She is always able to do two washes before the error occurs and it always happens when she attempts to start a third wash.
    Any ideas, anyone?
Has anyone heard of this before?
    Is it an operator error?
Is it likely that her description of the fault is inaccurate?
Any help would be greatly appreciated coz it’s certainly something I’ve never heard of before and given the woman’s age(80-90) and poor eyesight I’m not too confident that she’s telling me everything I might need to know!!
    Thanks.
