ParticipantWasher dryer apparently. Just out of g’tee. Start button has gone in and doesn’t seem to be making contact to start machine. Bit of a long drag to get there so would like to go prepared. Anyone know what I’m likely to need?
Two different fascias on pdf on mediator, one with 4 buttons, one with 6 (= W/D?)

Thanks for part no. Helo. Fascia looks a bit different from the one on Connect – everything in a different place. Suppose it’s not surprising when they change design every couple of weeks. :rolls:

we used to get a lot of these on the MFI versions, if its the same, the button assembly was only weakly clipped into the facia and was easy to push through especially by those who keep pressing ever harder waiting for the machine to start making noises regardless of the fact that there is a delay of a few seconds after the start button is pressed. it could easily be clipped back into place, but even better there was a stud and hole ready to accept a self tapper (or even 2 IIRC) that had obviously been dispensed with in some cost cutting exercise so fitting a couple of “back panel”style self tappers made a permenant repair.

😆 Oh, you cynics are unstoppable! 😆
I’m quite sure there was a good reason for getting rid of the self tappers. Probably during research and development testing they were falling out and getting into the electronics where they fused everything. 😆
Will take plenty of superglue, cable ties and a small drill as well as a selection of screws.

Hah! Another one’s just rung in with same fault! Holiday cottage right here in town. Model “H703” 😕 18 months old, and been repaired four times already apparently.

Its worth carrying a Hot Glue Gun for repairing these, makes a permenant repair.

Did first one yesterday. Flimsy start pause actuator had partly broken so I welded it with solder iron tip and reassembled whole thing a bit more securely. Then gave customer a demonstration of exactly how little pressure was necessary to operate button.
She then told me that the selector switch was a bit wonky too and needed to be tweaked sometimes to get it to programme. Always happy to learn these things after I’ve re-assembled everything :rolls: .
Mike.
BTW, Helo, diagram you referenced was the right one, thanks.July 31, 2010 at 12:08 am #326383leavemetogetonwithit

And that was absolutely spot on, too. 😀
