6 year old WM wont heat up the water any more on any cycle. What is the probability of it only being a heater element replacement. Any other ideas?

The most logical step would be to check out the heater. Guessing won’t get us very far but symptoms of not heating is a very big clue as to where the problem could lay. 😉

Thanks Martin. Would there be any error codes or flashing going on if the heater element wasnt working?

Not usually. If the heater had an earth leak (insulation fault) then yes E16 would be displayed. However if the element is open circuit or the wiring to it broken, no error specific to a heating fault would show.

Have any error codes shown at any point?

No, no error codes or flashing lights. I think I’ll go for a new element (41028717). The kitchen designer thought it would be a good idea to lift and enclose heavy kitchen units over the dishwasher and washing machine then build further solid units on top hence no access to check anything. She who must be obeyed ….!!!!!! stars again. Thanks for help.

Just to close this thread. Ordered a new element via this website and changed the heater element at the weekend. It actually had a 41021737 element fitted which doesn’t have the thermistor attached. Having checked with Dave I fitted the 41028717, which has the thermistor, and all works well. The connector on the original thermistor (CA2107) fitted onto the new element so I fitted it to the new element. Incidentally, it was as easy as the video showed.
