Got a weird one here…..
I went to this machine a few weeks ago as it jumped out of its suspention.
After putting it all back in place, she phoned me back saying it had gone again…
I have picked it up so it’s in my workshop.
After further inspection, I noticed that when it’s under load, the machine seems to just cut out for about 2 mins, the door lock clicks off, then it engages again and the first part of motor action goes straight into full spin.
I wandered if perhaps the motor was getting too hot and the TOC in the field coils was cutting out.
The motor is very hot to touch, you cant keep your hand on it, but if this is the case, why shoud it make the rest of the machine go dead but remain lit up?????
I removed the carbon brushes for inspection and found them worn out!
I managed to make some brushes fit as this has a sole motor and there not available, but these brushes have gone on fine and I even ran it several times on spin without the belt on to help them bed in.
So, it cuts out then cuts back in on full spin.
I have a Hoover SIX washing machine in my lock up with a good motor on, but not sure if its compatable or not (anyone know?)
There must be a Hoover engineer out there who has had this one, or anyone…..
Help please……
Regards,
Rob.
