KeymasterI have owned a hoover washer dryer for 3 years, nothing but breakdowns, 3 drums, 2 new bearing sets, 4 programmers, 24 new belts yes thats 24, 5 new motors, 3 new doors, 7 new control panels, 4 new pressure switches and 5 dryer timers……..the list goes on!!!!
I am debatin weather to fone out domestic and general and get it repaired (ithas brokendown again) or go out and buy a new machine!
If I do buy a new machine I will not buy a Hoover, candy, BOSCH, or Zanussi
I have had very bad experiences with these brands even BOSCH.July 6, 2005 at 6:55 pm #140627litlor

agree about Hoover and Candy but a good german built machine like Bosch Id go for but it looks like you have had trouble with them how about trying a Miele

Out of curiosity, How often do you use the machine, Is it in a normal domestic enviroment i.e. 2 point 4 kids, as this does seem excessive failure.

I use the machine for 2 loads a day six days a week which I think is about medium to heavy usage!,
Before this machine I had an Indesit which worked through double this for 14 years and it never had to be repaired once.(then 1 kid left home, so the washing reduced,
so I thought that I would treat myself to a new machine I thought HOOVER were a reliable make) but clearly notand Incase you were wondering how it managed 24 belts, the machine somehow manages to oversstretch them so they slip off!

Belts only come off if not tensioned correctly or if drum bearings break up so drum pulley does not run true sounds like lazy engineers (knowing this, easy job just change the belt, don’t care about recalls) just my view but I’ve worked with some of these so called engineers who just want to do there 10 calls and go home
Sorry about me ranting but these Muppets give us all a bad name, do the job correctly no recalls and feel good when you go home a good days work

this machine has been overstretching the belts as the repairman always shows me the old belt and the new belt and they are always over stretched
