KeymasterI think i need new bearings for the drum on our Hoover H110M washer, it is becoming very noisy, i have removed the drive belt and the drum is very ‘rumbly’ when rotated by hand also i can feel some movement when i grab the outside edge of the drum and move it up and down, can i just replace the bearings or is it a complete assembly, what will it cost and how difficult is it to do?
cheers!August 7, 2005 at 11:14 am #144128Martin

You will need a drum bearing and seal set plus a inner drum spider assembly and a outer drum seal. 🙁
It’s a hell of a tough job to do mind you as the whole drum has to be extracted from the cabinet before you can even attempt to remove the old bearings 🙁
Best of luck!

Cheers Martin,
i thought the drum may have to come out when i took the back off to check the noise, i’ll give my local repair shop a call on monday for a price and i’ll compare it to the cost of the parts, when i get a price on them.

Contacted my local repair shop today and they basically said new bearings cannot be fitted, a bearing kit is no longer available from hoover and that i would have to buy a complete drum assembly at around £100, is this the case?????????? If so i am probably better buying another machine??

That’s true, just checked up on supplies myself and it has to be a complete Drum Assy at around £100 or so 🙁
You’d be better off buying a BOSCH 🙂

Bosh represents excellent value for money, when compared with some of the cheap tat around at the moment. The best is probably Miele – you’ll only ever need to buy one 😀 . But, you pay…
