    Hi,

I’ve got a problem with a Hoover WA110-001 washer dryer. The customer was complaining that the machine gets too hot , even on a 40 degree programme. I went to have a look and it was getting too hot. The machine fills, then starts to heat (programmer shuts down). One half of the stat opens and the programmer comes to life but just does not move on and continues to heat.
I’ve fit a new thermostat and a new programmer and I still get the same symptoms.
Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks

    Nick

is it the thermostat with 4 wires or is it a thermistor, i would check the heater for a short.
those 4 wire stats are a bit dodgy

Yes its the 4 wire stat. Like I say I have swapped the stat. It was the first port of call. Then I swapped the timer.
The heater is reading fine with no shorts to earth.

I Cant believe this, but I’ve just been out to an AC110, the same machine as the WA110 but just a washer, with the same fault. It has all the same symptoms.
I dont know if I want to go any further with it.
    Does anybody have any suggestions.

    Cheers

I’ve had sa similar fault on one of these. Broken wire in the stat connector but insulation crimped…OR…broken wires at the cable tie to the right of the motor.

Cheers for that TC. I’m going back tommorrow armed and will take a look at all the wiring. It must be something simple lke that.

    Thanks
