Customer complains that machine sticks on drying cycle, gets almost to the end then sticks still heating.
It looks as though the dryer and main timer are a single unit on this machine, does this sound like a timer failure or could anything else cause this?
It won’t be anything to do with the heater or stats – that would usually stop the heat more often than not. This machine runs a Crouzet timer and the drier control is geared to the main timer cam barrel. So if it is jamming the problem most likely lies there. It’s also fitted with the Remco 5038 computer module, but despite these PCB’s suffering from blown solder joints and burnt edge connectors, I don’t think that would particularly have any bearing on the drier timer. Would be worthwhile checking though. 😉
Sounds like the timer complete: – EMW look like they do both the timer and the PCB, Jim.
Just for reference:- Timer unit New = £58 + VAT. (New 5038 PCB £26 + VAT).
She was quite specific, it was still going over an hour after it should have finished and was still hot, just phoned me to say that she has put it through another wash as I requested and it has completed the wash perfectly.
