hoover wdm120 overfilling with water

I know its a well documented problem, but my washer keeps filling and filling. I have taken off the tube from the pressure chamber , blown down it and i can hear the switch clicking on the other end. I have done this with the machine filling, andf yes it does stop the water on a temporary basis but then starts up again! Thing is, it doesnt do it on all the programs, which makes me wonder if it could be the control panel. Advice would be appreciated!
