    Trips the mcb after 5 sec. Pumps out for a few seconds then trips.
    i removed the motor connections and it did not trip so expected the motor to be at fault.I am going to return with another motor but have a feeling that i may have overlooked something. The smoothing capacitor looks okay and its insulation resistance was over 5 Mohm.

    Only way to be sure is to Megger the machine and its components. Its probably the motor or heater but without doing an earth check, you’re just guessing.

    i also tested the heater. Will let you know tomorrow.
